Our confrere Friar Kazimierz MALINOWSKI has concluded eighteen years of service to men’s religious Orders in Poland. “This was the most creative and important period of my life,” he confessed publically. “It has been a wonderful experience.” Friar Kazimierz served the Conference of Major Superiors of Men’s Orders in Poland for three years as its president and fifteen years as its secretary general.
On May 16-17, 2023, at the 150th Plenary Assembly of the Conference, conducted in Niepokalanów, Poland, Father Dariusz WILK, the Superior General of the Congregation of St. Michael the Archangel and current President of the Conference, thanked Friar Kazimierz on behalf of all of the religious Superiors. He also thanked Friar Marian GOŁĄB, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar (Cracow) for sharing such a talented, creative and hard-working friar for so many years, a friar full of initiative and dedication.
During his years in office, Friar Kazimierz MALINOWSKI’s accomplishments included the preparation of the Statutes of the Conference approved by the Vatican, the creation of a forum for cooperation among Orders, the creation of the website zyciezakonne.pl, the publication of a digital weekly news bulletin on consecrated life, the appointment of delegates for consecrated life in the dioceses, the reformulation of the commissions of experts, and the organization of important charitable activities, such as, providing assistance during the pandemic and offering aid to refugees from Ukraine. He also organized many symposiums, training sessions, conferences and meetings among the Orders.
The government of the Province of Cracow appointed Friar Kazimierz as Director of the St. Maximilian Center in Harmęże, near Auschwitz, Poland. He is the Guardian and Pastor there as well. Despite his responsibilities, Friar Kazimierz has pledged to continue running the zyciezakonne.pl website and publishing the bulletin on behalf of all the men’s religious Orders in Poland.
