On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., His Eminence, Mauro Cardinal GAMBETTI presided over Mass in the San Bonaventura Chapel at the Seraphicum International College in Rome. The cardinal greeted his confreres with joy and mentioned that despite his institutional commitments, it was important for him to come back and spend some fraternal time in the Conventual Franciscan setting where his vocation was born and grew.

The Mass was attended by the students and professors of the college along with some representative members of the International Council of the Secular Franciscan Order who have been present at the Seraphicum in recent days.
Starting with the readings of the day, the cardinal underlined how living a truly Franciscan consecrated life can lead to one’s true rebirth from above in the Holy Spirit. Francis of Assisi himself shows us the way. Strengthened by a creative freedom inspired by God, Francis was driven to seek and promote a lifestyle that constantly turned to the Spirit of the Lord and his holy workings. The Church needs members of the consecrated life in its ranks precisely because of the freedom with which the Holy Spirit speaks to consecrated persons.
We thank the cardinal for his visit and his uplifting words.
