On March 2-20, 2024, Friar Dariusz MAZUREK, the Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Mission Animation (SGAM) and Friar Piotr STANISŁAWCZYK, the Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Formation (SGF), visited the formation houses of the Foederatio Europae Mediae et Orientalis (FEMO) and the Poor Clare convents in Poland.

In particular, they visited all four of the FEMO Formation Houses: the postulancy house in Gniezno, the novitiate in Smardzewice, and the major seminaries in Łódź Łagiewniki and Cracow. They also visited all of the Poor Clare convents in Poland, namely, the convents in Stary Sącz, Cracow, Sitaniec, Sandomierz, Skaryszew and Miedniewice.
In addition, they visited the Franciscan community in Stoczek (whose members live according to the Rule of Life in the hermitages of St. Francis of Assisi), the community in Zamość (where Friar Dariusz conducted a Mission Sunday) and the novitiate that belongs to the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Mary in Łabunie.
The reason for their visits was to present the basic ideas of Franciscan formation and the missionary activity of the Order. They also talked about the Order’s current mission locations and the friars serving there. The secretaries thanked the sisters for their prayers and asked them to continue to remember the friars before God.
The secretaries thank all of the communities for their kindness and hospitality. They also thank the Minister General of the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow) Friar Marian GOŁĄB, and the friars of the Provincial Curia in Cracow for their help in organizing the visits.
