On October 28-29, 2024, the friars of the Province of St. Joseph in Slovenia celebrated an Extraordinary Provincial Chapter. The event took place at the St. Peter and Paul Friary in Ptuj, Slovenia.
Following the recent revisions of the Constitutions of the Order and the General Statutes, the Province of Slovenia renewed its Provincial Statutes as well. The revised text of the Provincial Statutes was approved with the Assistant General of the Centralis Europae Foederatio (CEF), Friar Igor SALMIČ, in attendance.
It has often been stressed that this document should be more than a juridical text regulating religious life in the Province, it should, in fact, be an actualization of the charism of Francis in our time, renewing our zeal to consistently and enthusiastically live the life we have chosen. This year’s 800th anniversary celebration of St. Francis receiving the stigmata is a special reminder of our commitment.
During the Extraordinary Chapter, the friars celebrated Mass and prayed the Liturgy of the Hours in common.
