Because of the current pandemic, youth and family ministry groups in the Province of Our Lady of Montserrat in Spain could only meet online to celebrate Holy Week in 2021. In years past, they had always met face to face.

We would like to tell the other Jurisdictions of the Order about the online Easter Triduum program that our Jurisdiction devised for these groups.
The program was divided into three participation levels: young people, adults and families. Liturgical celebrations were conducted in their various parish communities or local churches. In the capital, Madrid, a group of about forty young people participated in an in-person meeting every afternoon of the Triduum. Their meeting included prayer, reflection, a snack, fraternal time and a liturgical celebration.
Our proposed agenda for each day of the Easter Triduum was divided into five segments, customized to fit the group level being addressed. The first segment, “Look,” offered an image painted by Giotto in the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, in order to contemplate the central theme of the day. The next segment, “Consider,” offered a biblical point. “Contemplate” offered a prayer for each day. “Listen” offered a song that expressed the central feelings of the day, and finally, “Live,” called for a commitment to daily Christian action.

We are grateful to everyone, religious and secular, who participated in this initiative. Happy Easter to you all!
