On June 29, 2024, a week after making his solemn profession, Friar Oscar David GAÓN MARTÍNEZ was ordained to the diaconate by the Most Reverend Carlos Washington YÉPEZ NARANJO, Bishop of Tulcán, Ecuador. Along with Friar Oscar, the bishop also ordained a deacon that belonged to his own diocese.
The Rite of Ordination was conducted at the Cathedral of Santa María, Reina de la Paz in Tulcán. Friars from the Provincial Delegation in Ecuador and the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Poland (Gdańsk) were present at the ceremony, including the Vicar Provincial, Friar Robert WOŁYNIEC, and the Provincial Secretary for the Missions, Friar Robert KOZIELSKI. Friends and relatives of the new deacons and many faithful attended as well.
We thank God for these new deacons, for saying “yes” when the Lord called them to serve Him. May Mary, the Holy Mother of God, and our Seraphic Father St. Francis, always guide them to full communion with Christ.
