On March 1, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., Friar Williams SUÁREZ PAREDES, a member of the Provincial Custody of Our Lady of Coromoto in Venezuela, made his solemn profession at the Basilica of San Pedro Apóstol in the Los Chaguaramos neighborhood of Caracas, Venezuela. The event took place while the Province was conducting a formation meeting for Guardians and holding its sixth Custodial Definitory session for the 2023-2027 four-year term.
The Provincial Custos, Friar Franklin DURÁN ZAMBRANO, presided over the profession ceremony. In his homily, he urged the newly professed to live his consecration from the dynamic of love for God and for one’s brothers. This charitable way of living deepens one’s spiritual life in which a consecrated person is intimately united with God in prayer. As a result of this communion with the eternal Father, one begins to experience conventual and universal fraternity. The Custos also encouraged Friar Williams to embrace his religious consecration with joy and humble dedication, following the example of St. Francis who was a faithful disciple of the poor and crucified Christ.
Those present at the ceremony included the seven Guardians of the Custody, the members of the Custodial Definitory, some men and women religious from other congregations, the family members of the newly professed, lay faithful from the Basilica of San Pedro Apóstol and other friends and acquaintances.
