During May 2-23, 2026, the Provincial Custody of St. Francis Anthony Fasani in Vietnam was pleased to host Friar Giuseppe Myoungjin PARK, the Assistant General for the Federation of Asian Minor Conventuals (FAMC). Friar Giuseppe is a member of the Province of St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe in South Korea. He came to Vietnam to carry out a canonical visitation on behalf of the Order.

Friar Giuseppe was delegated by the Minister General, Friar Carlos TROVARELLI, to make the canonical visitation to the Custody. He brought a fraternal presence and a spirit of listening and support, with the aim of strengthening the fraternal life of the communities in Vietnam, promoting the spiritual growth of the confreres and supporting the effectiveness of the life and apostolic mission of the entire Custody.
During the visitation, he met with the various fraternities, joined them in prayer and liturgical celebrations, and conducted personal conversations, especially with the solemnly professed friars. He also paid particular attention to the young men in the various stages of initial formation. He talked to them about the Franciscan spirit and life in the context of contemporary society. Through these direct meetings, his canonical visitation helped verify and evaluate the life of the communities. It also provided an opportunity to candidly discuss concerns, difficulties and perspectives regarding the future mission of the fraternities.
In an atmosphere of openness and authentic fraternity, the confreres listened attentively to the valuable experiences of the Assistant General and, at the same time, expressed their own thoughts, concerns and aspirations with sincerity. This dialogue helped strengthen fraternal communion, while reviving a sense of belonging to the Franciscan tradition and encouraging each confrere to live the Gospel with renewed fidelity according to the charism of St. Francis of Assisi.
The canonical visitation also helped the friars reflect on their vocational journey, strengthen their religious identity, and renew their commitment and zeal for consecrated life. For many friars, this visitation was more than a routine event organized by the Government of the Order. It was a source of encouragement and support, reflecting both the unity of the Conventual Franciscan family and the Order’s closeness to its communities in Vietnam. It encouraged the friars to live the values of simplicity, fraternity, and service exemplified by the Seraphic Father, St. Francis.
Through the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi, the Custody prays that the Lord may continue to guide and bless Friar Giuseppe in his ministry as Assistant General for the FAMC Federation. May he fruitfully carry out his office, serving God and neighbor while promoting the growth and common good of the entire Order.
