On the Solemnity of the Epiphany, January 6, 2019, the Provincial Delegation in Burkina Faso celebrated another joyous historical event.
The Delegation’s own Friar Martin ROUAMBA was ordained a deacon by the Most Reverend Piergiorgio BERTOLDI, Apostolic Nuncio to Burkina Faso. The local ordinary, His Excellency, bishop Joachim OUÉDRAOGO, was also present. The ordination took place in the Conventual Franciscan parish of Sabou, with many priests, religious and lay people attending.
In his homily, the Nuncio invited Friar Martin to follow the example of the three Magi, who, led by the light of the star, dedicated themselves completely to follow and venerate Christ the Lord.
The Provincial Delegation in Burkina Faso is served by missionaries from two Provinces: the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw) and the Province of St. Bernardine and St. Angelo in Italy (Abruzzo). To date the Delegation has the following number of local vocations: 1 priest, 2 deacons, 4 temporarily professed, 2 novices and 10 postulants.
