On January 14, 2020, Friar Jude WINKLER made a canonical visitation to the Friary of St. Maximilian Kolbe in Torrance, California, USA.

This friary is part of the Province of Korea and the friars there serve the immigrants from Korea at the Korean Catholic Center of St. Francis in Torrence. This Center has 1,300 parishioners and it is one of eighteen Korean Centers in Southern California. Friar Joseph PARK serves as the Director of the Center as well as the Guardian of the friary. Brother Sebastian KIM organizes the friary and assists during the liturgy on Sundays. A third friar, Friar Vianney PARK, has recently returned to his home Province of Korea and will shortly be replaced by a new friar coming from Korea. The friars at the Center are often assisted by Friar Joseph KIM, a friar from the Province of St. Joseph of Cupertino in the USA. Friar Joseph lives at a neighboring friary of his own Province in Hermosa Beach, California. He especially assists younger, American-born members of the parish who often prefer to participate in the liturgy in English rather than Korean.
