On April 25-26, 2022, the second part of the Ordinary Provincial Chapter of the Province of St. Jerome in Croatia took place at the Sveti Duh (Holy Spirit) Friary in Zagreb, Croatia
The main task of the second part of the Provincial Chapter, as foreseen by the Directory for the Celebration of Provincial Chapters, was to approve the Provincial Four-Year Plan and elect the Guardians and formators, along with other offices to be assigned by the Chapter.
The Provincial Four-Year Plan sets future priorities and goals, seeks out ways and means and redirects energies. The Provincial government and all the friars of the Province will strive to implement the guidelines of the Plan over the next four years. The guidelines were created based on the reports given by the various Commissions during the first part of the Chapter and on the Instrumentum laboris prepared by the Provincial Definitory, which incorporated various other documents and guidelines of the Order.
On Tuesday, April 26, the new Guardians and formators were elected, along with the Editor-in-Chief of Veritas magazine and the Director of the St. Anthony House in Zagreb (which includes the charitable works of the Province mission: a communal kitchen, a house for students and the publication of Veritas magazine)
The newly elected Guardians are Friar Vitomir GLAVAŠ for the friary in Cres; Friar Đuro HONTIĆ for Pola; Friar Josip IVANOVIĆ for Šibenik; Friar Martin JAKOVIĆ for Split; Friar Pero KELAVA for Vis; Friar Josip BLAŽEVIĆ for Vinkovci; Friar Ivan BRADARIĆ for Sisak; Friar Martin DRETVIĆ for Novi Marof; Friar Zdravko TUBA for Molve; and Friar Josip PETONJIĆ for Zagreb.
The newly elected formators are: Friar Stjepan BRČINA for the post-novices; Friar Josip PETONJIĆ for the postulants; and Friar Zvonimir PERVAN for the minor seminarians.
Friar Vladimir VIDOVIĆ was elected as Director of the St. Anthony House and Editor in Chief of Veritas magazine.
