On February 19-23, 2018, the Province of St. Jerome in Croatia held the first part of its Ordinary Provincial Chapter at the Holy Spirit friary in Zagreb.
Fifty-three friars attended out of the sixty-two who were entitled to participate. Illness prevented the rest from attending. The Chapter was presided over by the Minister General, Friar Marco TASCA.
For the first two and a half days, the friars evaluated the previous mandate. In the end, they identified all the elements needed to create a basic document which they will use during the second phase of the Chapter to work on the Provinceâs future Four-Year Plan (PPQ).
During a break, the Minister General, Minister Provincial Friar Josip BLAÅœEVIÄ and the Assistant General for the Centralis Europae Foederatio (CEF), Friar Miljenko HONTIÄ, together visited His Eminence Josip Cardinal BozaniÄ, Archbishop of Zagreb.
During the third session of the Chapter, Friar Josip BLAÅœEVIÄ was elected to his second four-year term as Minister Provincial.
After the election, Friar Milan KOS, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Joseph in Slovenia, and Friar Milan HOLC, the General Visitator to the Province of Croatia, came by with some Slovenian friars to offer their congratulations to the newly elected.
Finally, during the fourth session, the members of the new Definitory were elected. They are: Friar Tomislav GLAVNIK, Vicar Provincial; Friar Ljudevit MARAÄIÄ, Provincial Secretary; Friar Vitomir GLAVAÅ , Provincial Econom, Friar Stjepan BRÄINA, Provincial Exactor; and Friar Ivan BRADARIÄ, Provincial Definitor.
The second part of the Chapter is scheduled for May 14, 2018.
