On March 17-21, 2025, the new Italian Province of St. Joseph of Cupertino celebrated its first Ordinary Provincial Chapter. The new Province was formed by the union of the Provinces of Abruzzo-Molise and Puglia. The Chapter was held at the Giovanni XXIII Pastoral Center in Larino, Italy.
The Chapter was a time of grace and truth, conducted in a fraternal climate of serenity, loyalty and mutual understanding. On the afternoon of March 17, the work of the Chapter began with the Minister General, Friar Carlos A. TROVARELLI, presiding. The Assistant General for the Federazione Intermediterranea Ministri Provinciali (FIMP), Friar Giovanni VOLTAN, was also present, along with thirty-nine Capitulars.
During the first few days, reports were read on the life of the two Provinces. On Thursday, March 20, Friar Daniele M. MAIORANO was officially confirmed as the Minister Provincial. He had already been elected by letter, after two ballots.
On Friday, at the last session of the Chapter, the members of the Provincial Definitory were elected. They are: Friar Antonio IOSUE, Vicar Provincial; Friar Massimo RUGGIERO, Provincial Secretary; Friars Fabio PACIELLO and Roberto DI PAOLO, Provincial Definitors; and Friar Nicola ROSA, Provincial Econom.
The Minister General gave the friars two words to consider for a life ever richer in meaning: renewal and quality.
Topics raised during this first part of the Chapter will be used to draft the Provincial Four-Year Plan which will be prepared and discussed during the second part of the Chapter, to be celebrated June 30 to July 4, 2025.
