On Monday, June 27, 2022, the friars of the Province of Mary Immaculate in Indonesia celebrated the closing of the celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the conversion of St. Anthony. Prior to this, each individual community of the Province had celebrated the “Tredicina” [a thirteen-day preparatory novena] and the feast day of St. Anthony of Padua.

Many of the friars of the Province celebrated this Antonian anniversary by walking 6 km [3.73 miles], from the stationary church in Tiga Juhar to a palm plantation, together with four hundred young people from six Conventual Franciscan parishes in Medan, Indonesia.
The event continued with the celebration of Mass presided over by the Minister Provincial, Friar Cornelius Tri Chandra FAJARIYANTO. The participants then planted seedlings, as a form of caring for the earth. Next, the youth were given a presentation on the life of St. Anthony. Finally, a period of dancing was held in honor of St. Anthony.
