On February 8-11, 2021, a series of online meetings took place for the Guardians of the Province of Mary Immaculate in Indonesia, with the participation of the Minister Provincial and his Definitory.

The meetings were also open to Vicar Guardians as well as Delegates from the filial houses of the Province. In addition they were open to a confrere who represented the Province’s resident friars in Italy.
The event was organized by the Commission for Ongoing Formation, comprised of Friars Robert Zhonpiter SIHOTANG and with Friar Longinus JUDUNG. It was the first such event since the erection of the new Province.
The first day was dedicated to discussing commitments being carried out in each community. On the second and third days, there was an in-depth study on the Guardian’s role being a vocation of prophetic witness, according to our Constitutions. The reflection was offered by Friar Rufinus Ero Jenska PERANGIN-ANGIN who is from the community at the Friary of St. Francis of Assisi in Bologna, Italy.
All the participants appreciated the topic, which involved each Guardian rediscovering his role as a community leader, serving individual friars and the community.
The last day was a time for gathering information on the current status of the Province with regard to the Provincial Four-Year Plan. The session was led by the Minister Provincial, Friar Cornelio Tri Chandra FAJARIYANTO. The Minister Provincial reminded the Guardians of the importance of formation in order to lead their community and to always stay in contact with the Minister Provincial and his Definitory.
Brothers, let’s get started on this in our communities, in keeping with the spirit of service.
