On August 17, 2024, the Province of St. Francis of Assisi in Kenya joyfully witnessed four of its friars profess their solemn vows.

The newly professed are Friars Albert Wambua MATHIAS, Charles Magangi OMBWORI, Gabriel Kyalo MUNYAO and Samuel Mulu NDAMBUKI. All of them study theology in Nairobi, Kenya, except Friar Gabriel who studies in Poland. The Minister Provincial, Friar Hillary Omondi RADUK, presided over the Mass. He stressed that we need to trust in God who gave us our vocation. God will take care of everything, even the financial challenges that at times make us fearful of embracing religious life or family life. In addition, the Vicar Provincial, Friar Joseph Kikuyu MUNGUTI, emphasized the need to participate in community prayer and in all other activities specified in the Provincial Statues. He reminded the newly professed that their rights in the Order also come with responsibilities.
The Minister Provincial thanked the parents of the newly professed for willingly allowing their sons to definitively enter the Order. Among those attending the ceremony were family members of the newly professed and parishioners from the friars’ respective parishes, who came in good numbers to offer their support and prayer. Others attending included many members of men’s and women’s religious institutes and friars from all of the communities in Kenya. Some of them drove for many hours in order to attend the celebration. This was a clear sign of the fraternity and joy that arise when welcoming newly professed friars. All to the glory of God.
