At noon on Sunday, June 19, 2022, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, Friar Germano SCAGLIONI presided over Mass marking the 25th anniversary of his priestly ordination. Friar Germano is a member of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy). The Mass took place in the St. Bonaventure chapel of the Seraphicum International College in Rome.
The Guardian of the Seraphicum, Friar Adam MĄCZKA, welcomed all the friars of the community as well as various representatives of the General Houses of Rome and the Vatican Penitentiary and some lay friends. Everyone participated enthusiastically in the celebration.
The Vicar General, Friar Jan MACIEJOWSKI, delivered the homily in which he commented on the Gospel reading for the solemnity and had plenty of kind things to say about Friar Germano. In particular, he mentioned his commitment as a biblical scholar and priest, and, of course, the beautiful anniversary he achieved. Friar Germano thanked everyone at the end and said that this anniversary was less a milestone and more a passage, a journey marked by the constant presence of God’s faithfulness and mercy.
After the Mass, the celebration continued in the refectory with a lunch set out for the community and guests. May Friar Germano continue to experience the joy of his priestly vocation to the fullest. We thank him for the enlightening work he does in the formation of college students.
