During the session of the General Definitory held November 3, 2018, the Minister General, with the unanimous consent of his Definitory, appointed and contracted seven solemnly professed religious brothers to participate fully in the next Ordinary General Chapter (Assisi-Collevalenza, Italy, May 18 to June 18, 2019).

During the recent 2018 Extraordinary General Chapter, which was dedicated to the revision of the Constitutions, the Capitulars noted an absence of religious brothers participating. Therefore, at this session, a proposal was approved to exceptionally authorize seven religious brothers to participate fully at the Ordinary General Chapter in 2019.
Since this was an exception to the proper law of the Order and since the delegates to the General Chapter had already been designated, it was necessary to seek the approval of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life. This approval was granted with a rescript dated October 25, 2018.
The seven religious brothers, one for each of the Federations of the Order, were elected by the General Definitory on the recommendation of the Presidents of the Federations. Including the brothers, there will be a total of ninety-one friars with voice at the Chapter.
