The Provincial Custody of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Tanzania has added a newly ordained priest among its members: Friar Amadeus Cypriano MARO.

Friar Amadeus was ordained on July 2, 2020, by the imposition of hands of the Most Reverend Ludovick Joseph MINDE, (Opus Spiritus Sancti) Bishop of Moshi, Tanzania. Friar Amadeus was born on September 25, 1987, in Moshi. He was baptized in the Parish of Shimbwe on September 10, 1988. He received the sacrament of confirmation on April 17, 1999 and was ordained a deacon on May 18, 2019. His parents are Siprian Bernard and Filomena AWATO.
Friar Amadeus is the eleventh local Conventual Franciscan priest in Tanzania. He will be assigned de familia to the St. Maximilian M. Kolbe Friary in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, and will work at our school there, the St. Maximilian Education Center.
We thank God for this new priest, and hope our brother will live out his ministry with joy.
