From May 30 to June 5, 2021, the Assistant General for the African Federation of Conventual Franciscans (AFCOF), Friar Anthony Bezo KUTIERO, visited the novitiate and postulancy communities of the Province of the Franciscan Protomartyrs in Zambia. He spent a few days in each community and interacted extensively with the men in formation.

He first visited the novitiate house in Itimpi where five novices are gradually completing their year of probation. Their novitiate began on August 2, 2020. The Assistant General reflected with the novices on their individual vocational journey, minority and on the 800th anniversary of the Earlier Rule of St. Francis of Assisi.
On June 2, Friar Anthony went to the formation house in Kalumbwa which houses the postulancy program. He met with the twenty-four postulants there, first and second year together, and conducted extensive dialogue on vocation, fraternity and how to pray the Psalms.
The visit was a hope-filled occasion, because it is always a great joy to meet young men who make themselves freely available to serve the Lord. May our Father St. Francis continue to inspire them and many more in this way of life.
