On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Pope Francis appointed our confrere Friar Francesco PANIZZOLO as a Head of Office in the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.
Friar Francesco is a member of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy). He was born in Dolo (Venice) on July 5, 1977. He made his simple profession on September 4, 1997, his solemn profession on October 4, 2001, and was ordained to the priesthood on November 12, 2005.
Friar Francesco obtained a Doctorate in Canon Law at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. Since 2018, he has been a member of the community of the Friary of the Twelve Holy Apostles in Rome. Up until now, he had been an Official in the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. He will continue to deal with disciplinary issues regarding faith and morals.
