On November 20-23, 2023, the Provincial Custody of Our Lady of Coromoto in Venezuela conducted a spiritual retreat at the San José de Cupertino Conventual Franciscan Formation House in Palmira, Venezuela. The event was part of the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the approval of the Later Rule and the 45th anniversary of the Order’s presence in Venezuela.

The participants included twenty-four solemnly professed friars from the six friaries of the Jurisdiction, and five simply professed friars from the San Antonio de Padua Post-Novitiate House in Mérida, Venezuela.
The retreat was led by Friar Piotr STANISŁAWCZYK, the Secretary General for Formation, and Friar Dariusz MAZUREK, the General Delegate for Mission Animation. They encouraged the friars to reexamine their lives in the light of the teachings of the Gospel, taking as their model the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Savior’s mother and faithful disciple.
The retreat was convened by the Provincial Custos, Friar Franklin DURÁN ZAMBRANO. Earlier, on November 16-19, 2023, at the same friary, Friar Manuel E. NÚÑEZ GALLARDO (Custodial Econom and Exactor) conducted the first meeting for the House Economs of the Jurisdiction. The objective of this meeting was to train friars entrusted with the office of House Econom.
