The Conventual Franciscan friary together with the Allerheiligste Dreifaltigkeit Parish Church in Vienna’s Alser Vorstadt neighborhood, recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Friar Dariusz ZAJĄC. Friar Dariusz is the Custos of the Provincial Custody of St. Leopold and St. Nicolas of Flüe in Austria-Switzerland.
Friar Dariusz was ordained to the priesthood twenty-five years ago, on June 29, 1998, in Vienna, by His Eminence Cardinal Christoph SCHÖNBORN. On Sunday, June 25, 2023, Friar Dariusz celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Allerheiligste Dreifaltigkeit Church in Vienna. Those attending the solemn celebration included Friar Igor SALMIČ, the Assistant General for the Centralis Europae Foederatio (CEF); Friar Andrzej ZAJĄC, the brother of Friar Dariusz; and several other friars. Also present were Friar Dariusz’s parents and many faithful. Friar Andreas MURK, the Minister Provincial of the Mother Province of St. Elizabeth in Germany, gave the homily.
At the end of the Mass, children from the local kindergarten, various groups from the parish and the Italian community congratulated the honoree. Afterwards, the convivial event continued with an agape meal served in the friary garden.
