On February 5, 2018, Friar Tadeusz ŚWIĄTKOWSKI, the Assistant General for the African Federation of Conventual Franciscans (AFCOF), Friar Maurizio DI PAOLO, the Procurator of the Order and Friar Richard CHIMFWEMBE, the Minister Provincial of Zambia, together visited the AFCOF Federation Common Novitiate in Itimpi, Zambia.
They met with the novices for purpose of animation and providing information on structures within the Order and various issues the Order faces.
There currently eight novices in Itimbi: seven from Zambia and one from Malawi. The Novice Master is Friar Ryan MUTAYOMBA. He is assisted by a friar-deacon. The novitiate is located at a friary where the friars teach at an eight-year primary school and run a near-by spiritual retreat center.
