For the Franciscan Family and the whole Church, the call to radically live the Gospel is a great gift from God, especially if there is a continuing (lifelong) confirmation to this call.

On Saturday, May 27, 2023, the eve of the Solemnity of Pentecost, Friar Maximiliano Darío GONZÁLEZ, a member of the “Rioplatense” Province of St. Anthony of Padua in Argentina-Uruguay, professed his solemn vows. The event took place at the Inmaculada Concepción Church in the City of José León Suárez, General San Martín Department, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Just as Francis of Assisi and other friars made a journey to consecrate themselves totally to God. So, too has Friar Maximiliano made his own journey through the various stages of formation. The step he has just taken is not the end of this journey; it is his confirmation and decision to follow Jesus in the footsteps of St. Francis for the rest of his life.
The Minister Provincial, Friar Javier Alberto FONTANA, presided over the moving celebration. Many friars from all over the Province attended along with Friar Maximiliano’s family and members of his home parish who observed and guided Friar Maximiliano’s spiritual growth during his formative journey and entry into the Order.
After the ceremony, a fraternal reception took place at the same location in order to continue the festivities.
Thanks to all those who participated in making such an exciting event possible. We commend our brother to the prayers of all. May Friar Maximiliano dedicate his life to being a faithful witness to the Gospel, as our seraphic father St. Francis did, who preached with his life.
