On February 25, 2022, the Secular Franciscan Order and the Franciscan Youth of Italy published a press release inviting all of the fraternities to join together, online, for a day of fasting and to pray for peace.

OFS and YouFra of Italy for the Ukraine: March 2, 2022, at 9:00 p.m., Prayer for Peace
The National Councils of the Secular Franciscan Order and Franciscan Youth of Italy express their deep sorrow at the news from the Ukraine and strongly condemn any choice that would destabilize peace.
The Franciscan Family declares its full solidarity with the Ukrainian people and supports them in prayer, being especially mindful of the religious and lay Franciscan fraternities inside the territory.
OFS and YouFra of Italy therefore accept the request of Pope Francis and the Italian Church to carry out a day of fasting and prayer on Ash Wednesday. All local fraternities and anyone who wants to join are invited to participate in a Prayer for Peace, which will be live-streamed on March 2, 2022, at 9:00 p.m., on the YouTube channel of the OFS of Italy (https://www.youtube.com/c/OFSItaliano).
The fraternities are also invited to offer prayer for peace in their communities every Friday of Lent.
