From April 27 to May 2, 2020, the Provincial Custody of the Orient and the Holy Land took part in a spiritual retreat with the General Curia by means of the Internet.

This year, the retreat was conducted in a novel way. The Secretary General, Friar Tomasz SZYMCZAK, used an Internet application to preach the retreat on line from the General Curia. Thus, he was able to help the friars meditate on the vow of poverty.
The meditations helped the friars review their lives from the perspective of this vow. They reflected in particular on the way that one accepts and then lives the Word of God, and how one finally recognizes that everything is a gift from the Lord. By fully accepting this gift in a balanced and responsible way, one can build authentic relationships with oneself, one’s neighbor, and with the Most High.
Last year, Friar Tomasz personally conducted the retreat with the friars in Lebanon. Although we missed being able to meet fraternally face-to-face, we thank the Lord for our retreat this year as well, making the best of the circumstances that forced us to be confined within the four friaries of the Custody.
