On September 7-8, 2022, the Province of St. Joseph, Spouse of the B.V.M. in Romania celebrated two significant events in initial formation.

On Wednesday, September 7, the novitiate house in Pârâul Rece opened its doors to a new young man, Vasile PERICICĂ, who is eager to embrace Franciscan life following the example of St. Francis of Assisi. He was vested in the probationary habit at 6:00 p.m., during Evening Prayer in the friary church. The Minister Provincial, Friar Damian-Gheorghe PĂTRAȘCU, presided, attended by the Novice Master, Friar Anton HERCIU, and the Assistant Novice Master, Friar Ioan BUTACU. Several friars from the Province also took part in the event, along with the candidate’s family and some faithful who attend Mass at the friary church.
The festivities continued the next day, when two novice confreres, Friars Cosmin Emanuel PETRAȘC and Iulian SĂRĂȚANU, professed their simple vows for one year. After a strenuous year of probation, deepening their lives in the Franciscan spirit, the novices responded affirmatively to God’s call. On Thursday, September 8, their simple profession ceremony took place with the Minister Provincial presiding. Others attending included some friar priests, the candidates’ relatives and various guests.
