On August 19 and 20, 2023, the third national meeting of the Militia of the Immaculata (M.I.) in Venezuela took place in Guanare, State of Portuguesa, Venezuela. The event also commemorated the founder of the M.I., St. Maximilian M. Kolbe.
The M.I. National Assistant for Venezuela, Friar Pietro BUONAMASSA presided. There were sixty-two participants coming from three regional centers, namely, Barinas, Carabobo and Portuguesa.
During the meeting, new consecrations were celebrated for some aspiring M.I. members who had already received training. Additional M.I. members renewed their consecration to Mary Immaculate, thus strengthening their service to the Lord.
The National Assistant talked about some important themes and invited everyone to take part in personal and communal meditation. There were also some presentations by various M.I. members representing their respective local centers.
The participants discussed several topics at this national meeting, including fraternity in the M.I.; the direction the M.I .in Venezuela is taking; the importance of being consecrated to Mary; the call to respond to Mary through the renewal of one’s heart; living one’s consecration day by day with the help of a spiritual diary; the necessity of frequent retreats, and making today better than yesterday and tomorrow better than today.
Finally, all of the M.I. members reflected upon the path they have traveled in the name of God and the Blessed Virgin Mary through the intercession of St. Maximilian Kolbe.
