On April 29-30, 2024, the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in India conducted its 2024 Meeting for Junior Priests at Assisi Shanthi Kendra, the Provincial curia in Karukutty, Kerala State, India.

Fourteen junior priests attended. They came from the Provincial Delegation and the missions of the Province. This intensive meeting was characterized by prayer, formation, and fraternity. It took place in an atmosphere of openness, conversation, and kindness.
On April 29, the meeting started with Mass concelebrated by the recently ordained priests. Later, the Minister Provincial, Friar Michael EARALY, talked to the new priests about problems they presently face and expressed his hopes for the future. The priests shared their hopes with the Minister Provincial as well. One important event during the meeting was a visit made to a home for the elderly where the participants got to know the residents and share an agape meal with them.
The next morning, April 30, just after Mass, the Vicar Provincial, Friar Alphonse VAZHAPPANADY, together with the friars, listened to an inspirational talk by Mr. Joseph ANNAMKUTTY JOSE, a young, vibrant speaker from Kerala State. The speaker reflected on the human kindness of young priests and the pastoral ministry they carry out with the laity. He urged the friars to care for others with the charitable face of Christ.
Later that evening, the friars went on an outing and had dinner. After that, the meeting concluded. Everyone had a great time at the Provincial curia; the friars there made everyone feel welcome and at ease.
May the Good Lord help all of these young friars and priests to remain humble followers of St. Francis, and thus continue to serve in fraternal communion.
