During the second half of November, 2021, Friar Marian GOŁĄB, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow) visited the Provincial Delegations in Paraguay and Peru.
Friar Marian met with all the friars working in these two countries. In particular, he spoke to them about initial and ongoing formation, vocation ministry, financial matters, projects underway and the possibility of the Delegations becoming Provincial Custodies in the near future.
On November 15-21, the Minister Provincial visited the friaries in Asunción, Areguá and Guarambaré, Paraguay. He was joined by the Provincial Econom, Friar Jakub CZAJKA and by the Secretary for the Missions, Friar Dariusz GACZYŃSKI.
On November 21-30, the Minister Provincial, along with the Provincial Econom, visited Lima, Chimbote and Pariacoto, Peru. However, he was unable to reach our presence in Trujillo-Moche because of road blocks erected during protests across the country. Nevertheless, he met with all the friars of the Delegation at the Paz y Bien Retreat House in Chimbote.
The Minister Provincial summed up his visit to the two Latin American countries by saying:
“We have discussed our dreams and it turns out that we have similar dreams and similar thoughts about the future…I believe that this is the voice of the Holy Spirit working in our hearts and it is important to recognize this voice.”
