Nel pomeriggio di Martedì 23 Maggio 2023, vigilia della Festa della Dedicazione della Basilica, alla presenza di oltre un centinaio di persone, soprattutto confratelli francescani dei diversi Ordini presenti in Assisi, è stata inaugurata nel piano superiore del Chiostro Sisto IV della Basilica San Francesco la mostra “Il Vangelo e nient’altro” L’evento è stato realizzato in occasione delle celebrazioni per l’ottavo centenario della conferma dell’approvazione della Regola francescana, avvenuta nel 1223 attraverso la bolla pontificia Solet annuere di Papa Onorio III. Come ha spiegato il Custode Fra Marco MORONI, la mostra è opera corale di alcuni frati del Sacro Convento e consta di una ventina di pannelli con fotografie e didascalie tradotte anche in inglese e in spagnolo. Ripercorre alcuni dei temi presenti nella Regola, e offre l’opportunità di conoscere la vita dei frati francescani che hanno ancora oggi la stessa Regola come base per la propria esistenza e le proprie scelte. I temi della povertà, della minorità, del lavoro, della missione, della fraternità ecc., sono declinati in modo che possano essere utili non solo ai frati, ma anche a tutti coloro che desiderano conoscere e vivere secondo la spiritualità di San Francesco. Le didascalie, volutamente brevi, si prestano ad essere lette anche da parte dei numerosi visitatori di passaggio in Basilica, che in un tempo limitato possono comunque venire a conoscenza del prezioso contenuto della Regola. La mostra rimarrà allestita fino alla fine dell’anno e può essere visitata negli orari di apertura della Basilica. È anche possibile che altri Conventi la riproducano, basta richiedere i file di stampa, perché sia maggiormente diffusa e conosciuta. La mostra in qualche modo si estende con il suo “pezzo forte” nella chiesa superiore della Basilica, dove nell’abside, è esposta la pergamena originale bollata da Papa Onorio III, oggetto di fondamentale importanza storica, custodito dai frati del Sacro Convento come una preziosa reliquia che passò per le mani di San Francesco, dove raccolse quello che lui chiamava il “midollo del Vangelo”.
