On Monday, May 21, 2018, the Chapter Delegates of Central and Eastern Europe met to discuss the upcoming Extraordinary General Chapter of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual. They met at the friary in Niepokalanów-Lasek (Poland).

Ministers Provincial, Custodes and Delegates from various Provinces, along with the Assistant General for the Federatio Europae Mediae et Orientalis (FEMO) Friar Jacek CIUPIŃSKI, spent a few days studying the revised text of the Constitutions of the Order, as found in the document Instrumentum laboris. The participants included friars from the Polish Provinces of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar (Cracow), the Immaculate Mother of God (Warsaw), and St. Maximilian M. Kolbe (Gdańsk), as well as friars from the Province of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in the Czech Republic, the Province of St. Elizabeth in Hungary-Transylvania, the General Custody of Our Holy Father St. Francis in Russia, and the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Slovakia. They will be joined by Delegates from other Jurisdictions of the Order, when the Chapter meets in Nemi (near Rome) from July 24 until August 26, 2018. At that time they will definitively examine, analyze and evaluate the changes proposed in the Constitutions.
